NBCUniversal-owned streaming service Peacock is prepping a three-part documentary from Scout Productions about Barney the Dinosaur, scheduled to premiere next year.
The documentary covers the children’s TV character’s trajectory and rise in popularity, and how it then became a target of “hate and rage.” The series will include exclusive interviews and archival footage and offer a first-hand account of the Barney phenomenon from the cast, crew, and its outspoken critics.
